Academia – Events – Startup Telangana

The state of Telangana boasts of being a rich congregation of various premier educational institutions and research organizations including 5 Central Universities, 17 State Universities, 1 Deemed University, and 5 Private Universities like Indian School of Business (ISB), University of Hyderabad(UoH), NALSAR, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad), IIT Hyderabad, NIFT, Mahindra University, Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO), International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics(ICRISAT), Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research–Centre For Cellular And Molecular Biology (CSIR–CCMB) etc.

The Telangana state government has taken several initiatives to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the state, particularly among students. Some of the events undertaken to support student entrepreneurs in Telangana state and also established eco-system enablers like T-Hub, We-Hub, TSIC, RICH, Ag-Hub, J-Hub etc. of the Government and its Educational Institutions.

Some of the events and programs undertaken to support student entrepreneurs are:

T-Hub: T-Hub is a startup incubator that provides mentoring, networking, and funding opportunities to student entrepreneurs. It offers a 70,000 sq. ft facility that has co-working spaces, event spaces, and conference rooms to accommodate a variety of startups.
Telangana Innovation Ecosystem: The Telangana Innovation Ecosystem is a platform that provides mentoring and funding to innovative startups. It is supported by the government of Telangana and has various partners such as T-Hub, IIIT Hyderabad, and many others.
Startup Accelerator Program: The Startup Accelerator Program is an initiative by the Telangana government to provide mentorship and funding to student entrepreneurs. It is aimed at startups that have completed their prototype development stage and are ready for scaling up.
HYSEA Innovation Summit: The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) Innovation Summit is an annual event that brings together startup founders, investors, and industry experts to discuss and promote innovation in Telangana.
TiE Hyderabad: TiE Hyderabad is a chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a global organization that promotes entrepreneurship. It provides mentorship, networking, and funding opportunities to student entrepreneurs.
Startup Fest: Startup Fest is an event that provides a platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and products to investors, industry experts, and other startups. It is a great opportunity for networking and gaining exposure.

The Telangana state government has taken several steps to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students, providing them with funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help turn their ideas into successful businesses.
