Ecosystem Innovation

During my visit along with the TSIC team to an engineering college near Warangal, I had the opportunity to learn and witness some of TSIC's initiatives towards bringing visibility to rural and Tier-3 city innovators.TSIC team appears to have a very subtle approach through which they make it comforable for innovators, specifically from these localities to come out and speak about their innovations. Be it a group of grads who developed a light weight pesticide sprinkling system for farmers in their village or another individual who has the courage to challenge conventional methods of applying scientific learnings to generate energy through perpetual motion, TSIC's efforts to identify and support them is extremely commendable. Kudos to the entire TSIC team for their selfless efforts. All the very best!

GMP played a huge role in accelerating our journey towards building geospatial decision support systems for the government. As a social enterprise focused on working with the government - two of the biggest barriers we face are gathering deep insights on customer pain points and converting those insights into a project. Our mentor, who is the Officer on Special Duty for Adoption of Emerging Technologies, and the broader TSIC team were of great help in solving both of these issues. Thanks to their support we were able to conceptualize a project on disaster management, and are currently in the pilot phase. We've found Telangana to be one of the most supportive states for deep/emerging tech use-cases, and the GMP initiative provides a great entry pathway into the state. I highly recommend this program to innovative startups!

TSIC has made huge strides in bringing innovation to the education sector in Telangana. Ashoka Innovators for the Public partnered with TSIC to conduct Changemaker boot camps for middle school students from tribal and social welfare schools. TSIC was monumental in the successful organization and implementation of the boot camp. As a result, many of the young students are now launching their own initiatives. Additionally, the innovation fellows are very diligent, hardworking and show exemplary leadership skills which were exhibited during our work with them.
